Working in partnership with Learning to Listen and Myogi Yoga,  Haelan Therapy's one-day personal retreats are themed by the changing seasons and are  a truly unique experience that offer you the chance for rest, relaxation and so much more.  Set in the beautiful idyll of the Bowes-Lyon estate in St Paul's Walden, Hertfordshire, we welcome you to step off the treadmill into a small group (maximum of 6 guests) and experience something special.  We warmly invite you to enjoy morning refreshments before setting your intentions for the day through a yoga session. You will then have the opportunity to meet the horses and step into the field to explore your connection with self through the power of equine therapy.

 

Creating a sense of kinship with a fireside ritual and reiki drumming. 

 

Breaking for lunch you will have time to enjoy a nutritious and wholesome meal from Chia Naturally Healthy, breathe in the tranquil surroundings at your leisure and then indulge your mind and body in the afternoon with a healing treatment in the serene setting of our therapy rooms, followed by guided meditation and yoga.

This day of rejuvenation opens the door for you to take time out of your busy schedule and to spend a day in the now; to recognise the value of who you are and to gift yourself with an opportunity to engage, nurture and restore.  Feel enriched and empowered to be the best version of yourself you can be.

Spring  - 18th May 2018

Cleanse and detoxify with our spring retreat and get your 'mental and emotional house' in order ready for the year ahead.   Your day may include the following:

Equine therapy: the horses will enable you to gain clarity around your thoughts and set clear intentions for the year. 

Yoga: combine detoxifying asana and energising pranayama to create a sense of physical and emotional renewal.

 

Holistic therapy: detox your mind, body and soul and indulge in treatments such as Gong Bath Massage, a cleansing facial using natural masks combined with spices, reflexology or tarot card reading.

Meditation:  bathe your mind and soul in the heavenly sound of the gong and bring your body back into vibrational harmony.

Refreshments: ingredients willl include chlorophyll rich foods such as green salads as they are the body's best cleansers and detoxifiers.

Summer - 9th July 2018

Feel the summer vibe with our energising retreat.  The focus will be on hydrating, refreshing and building excitement.   Your day may include the following:

Equine therapy: celebrate your successes with the horses by visually experiencing where you are in your life right now.

Yoga: combine soothing, calming asana and pranayama to counterbalance the fiery energy of summer and bring a sense of equilibrium to the body and mind.

Holistic therapy: energise your mind and body with hydrating and refreshing treatments which will include deep tissue massage, Reiki and hydrating oat facials to leave your skin glowing and able to breathe.

Meditation: indulge your inner creative and allow your paintbrush or pen to flow during our art inspired meditation.  

Refreshments: ingredients will include succulent fruit and vegetables such as mixed greens, elderflower and tomatoes to moisturise and hydrate.

Autumn - 24th September  2018

Let go and release with our autumn retreat.  Focusing on 'reaping what you sow' the day will nourish your soul and promote self care.  Your day may include the following: 

Equine therapy: let the soul of our equine friends assist you in practicing gratitude, enabling the release of any unwanted patterns of behaviour.

Yoga: take part in a grounding practice to encourage physical and emotional renewal, whilst providing the opportunity for balance in the body and mind, embracing the changing season.

Holistic therapy: nuture, nourish  and honour your mind, body and soul as you prepare for the colder climes with treatments such as massage, reflexology, reiki and tarot card reading.

Meditation: join a fireside ritual and let go of and release old patterns of behaviours and beliefs into the fire and heal at a soul level.  

Refreshments: ingredients will include whole grains and foods rich in protein and fats such as sweet potato, ginger and quinoa to nourish your body.

Winter - 30th November 2018

Rest, recharge and reflect with our winter retreat.  Hunker down and set your intentions of light and goodness for the new year.  Your day may include the following:

Equine therapy: allow the presence of the horse to reflect on your past year and shine a light on your intention for the months to come.

Yoga: experience a nurturing, immune boosting physical practice to encourage relaxation, stress reduction and increased circulation, combined with a reflective meditation practice.

Holistic therapy: turn up the heat and warm your body with  relaxing treatments such as Hot Stone Massage,  hot towel facials and circulation inducing hand and foot massages and reflexology.

Meditation:  join a fireside ritual and release old patterns of behaviours and beliefs into the fire and set intentions for a new and recharged life.  

Refreshments: warming and hearty foods will be top of the agenda such as parsnips, sweet potates and leeks to generate energy and keep us warm.
